Central Fund Bill, 1949

The Central Fund Bill, 1949 would authorise the Minister for Finance to release £1.7 million for government spending for the year ending March 1949 and £22.9 million for the following year. It would also allow the Minister to borrow up to £24.6 million, with the debt and interest charged to the Central Fund. A new fund would manage money connected with loans from the United States, including repayments to the Central Fund and permitted investments. Its accounts would be audited and presented to both Houses of the Oireachtas.
