Central Fund Bill, 1952
Public bill · Government · Introduced
The Central Fund Bill, 1952 authorises the Minister for Finance to release £11,350,190 for government services for the year ending 31 March 1952, and £33,140,340 for the following year. It also allows the Minister to borrow up to £44,490,530, including by issuing government securities, to provide this money. Borrowing costs and repayment would be charged to the Central Fund, and the money raised would be available for public spending. The measure matters because it gives the Government legal access to the funds and borrowing needed to meet its approved spending commitments.
