Central Fund (No. 2) Bill, 1953
Public bill · Government · Introduced
The Central Fund (No. 2) Bill, 1953 would authorise the Government to take up to £38,905,250 from the Central Fund to pay for public services during the year ending 31 March 1954. It would also allow the Minister for Finance to borrow this amount, including from the Bank of Ireland, and to issue government securities to raise the money. Any borrowing, interest and related costs would be charged to the Central Fund. The measure matters because it provides the legal financial authority for government spending and borrowing for that year.
