Tea (Purchase and Importation)(Amendment) Bill, 1966
Public bill · Government · Introduced
The Tea (Purchase and Importation) (Amendment) Bill, 1966 would bring tea extracts, essences and concentrated tea products under the rules already applying to tea. In general, only the designated company could import these products, and imports or purchases by registered tea traders would be allowed only when the product and the tea used to make it came from the same country, unless the Minister authorised an exception. Samples, certain products from Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man, and limited personal imports would be exempt, while the designated company would have to act as an import agent for registered traders on request. The measure would make these changes effective from 1 July 1966.
