An Bord Bia (Amendment) Bill, 1996

Public bill · Government · Presented

The An Bord Bia (Amendment) Bill, 1996 would add a consumer representative to An Bord Bia’s main board and each of its subsidiary boards. It would increase the main board’s ordinary membership from 13 to 14, and raise the membership of the meat and livestock board from 11 to 12; other subsidiary boards could also have up to 12 members. The aim is to ensure that consumer views are represented in the organisation’s decision-making. It would have no staffing impact and only minor additional costs, mainly members’ fees and expenses.
