Milk (Regulation of Supply)(Amendment) Bill, 1996

The measure would give the Minister greater control over transferring, managing or selling the assets, debts and businesses of milk boards being dissolved, including the power to recover money owed to an interim board. It would require at least two consumer representatives on the milk agency and update how its members are chosen. Producer representatives would be elected every three years, with secret and possibly postal voting, while processors, distributors, retailers and consumers would nominate representatives.
