Courts Bill 1997

The Courts Bill 1997 would increase the maximum number of ordinary High Court judges from 22 to 23. The higher limit would also apply where a High Court judge or President is appointed to the Law Reform Commission, allowing courts to maintain an additional judge while that person remains in office.

Bill entitled an Act to amend the Courts and Court Officers Act, 1995, to increase the number of ordinary judges of the High Court, and for related purposes.
