Health (Provision of Information) Bill 1997
Public bill · Government · Presented
The measure would allow the National Cancer Registry Board, the Health Minister and participating health bodies to request and share people’s names, addresses and dates of birth for authorised cancer-screening programmes, including breast and cervical screening, despite existing data-protection rules. This would help identify and invite people who should be offered screening.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to allow for the provision of information to the National Cancer Registry Board, the Minister for Health and certain health bodies, for the purposes of national cancer screening programmes, and to provide for related matters.
