Hepatitis C Compensation Tribunal Bill 1997

Would establish a dedicated tribunal to compensate people who contracted Hepatitis C in Ireland through Anti-D immunoglobulin, blood transfusions or other blood products, including certain relatives, dependants and carers. It would provide a simpler alternative to court action, fund awards from public money, and offer either aggravated-damages assessments or an additional payment equal to 20% of the award or settlement.
