No. 53 of 1997

Court Officers (Amendment) Bill, 1997

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The Bill would validate appointments and related decisions concerning District Court clerks that officials had made before 30 October 1997, after a High Court ruling found that the Minister could not delegate this power. It would also allow fresh, identical applications for summonses affected by the ruling to be made by 1 May 1998, helping potentially affected prosecutions proceed.

Formal long title
