Local Government (Planning and Development) Bill 1997

Would allow the Minister to increase An Bord Pleanála’s ordinary membership when a heavy workload of planning appeals and other cases requires it, subject to approval by both Houses of the Oireachtas, with limited emergency appointments. It would also protect members and staff acting in good faith from personal legal claims and preserve existing members’ terms of office.
