Updates plant-breeders’ rights to cover derived and hybrid varieties, sets protection periods of up to 30 or 35 years, and clarifies when permission is needed to produce, sell or export protected plant material. It also protects limited private, research and farm-saved-seed uses, strengthens enforcement and information-gathering, and aligns Irish rules with international and European arrangements.
