Roads (Amendment) Bill 1997

Would allow authorities to acquire underground land needed for roads, tunnels and Dublin light rail, and permit certain proposed public roads to be declared motorways. It would also set a two-month deadline and stricter procedure for challenging road and motorway decisions in the courts.

Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Roads Act, 1993, and the Transport (Dublin Light Rail) Act, 1996, to provide, inter alia, for the compulsory acquisition of substrata of land for the purposes of those Acts, and to make provision for the declaration of certain proposed public roads as motorways, and to provide for connected matters
