Punishment of Aggravated Robbery Bill 1997

The bill would create a new offence of aggravated robbery where a robbery involves a syringe or needle intended to intimidate, injure or incapacitate someone. It proposes prison sentences of at least five years for a first conviction, at least seven years for a second, and life imprisonment for a third or later conviction, while also criminalising possession of such items in certain circumstances.
