The Trinity College Dublin (Charters and Letters Patent Amendment) Bill, 1997
Private bill · Private · By Application
The measure would update the centuries-old rules governing Trinity College Dublin and the University of Dublin. It would reorganise the College Board to include academic and non-academic staff, students, an outside member and a Government-nominated member, while allowing its composition to be changed under College rules. It would also make the College, rather than the Crown, responsible for choosing the Provost, and confirm that the remaining parts of the historic charters and letters patent continue to apply.
