National Sports Council of Ireland Bill, 1998

Would establish a National Sports Council of Ireland to promote participation, coordinate sporting activities, advise the Government, develop a national sports programme and administer State and National Lottery funding for sport. It would also create public reporting and financial oversight arrangements, with the Council operating under ministerial direction.

Bill entitled an Act to make provision for the promotion, co-ordination and development of sport in Ireland and for these purposes to establish a body to be known as the National Sports Council of Ireland, to define its functions and to provide for other matters connected with the matters aforesaid
