Shannon River Council Bill, 1998

The proposal would establish an independent Shannon River Council to co-ordinate public bodies and other organisations in improving water quality, managing the Shannon catchment, controlling pollution, and protecting wildlife habitats. It would prepare a publicly available water-management plan, advise authorities, provide assistance, and report annually, with government funding and a board of up to 21 members.
