Energy Conservation Bill, 1998
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
The bill would require local authorities to assess energy-saving measures for premises in their areas, publish plans showing their costs, likely energy and emissions savings, and job benefits, and consult the public. It would also require a national energy-saving plan, regular reporting and reviews, and allow gas and electricity suppliers to identify households facing severe financial hardship so energy-efficiency works could be prioritised.
Formal long title
