Refugee (Amendment) Bill 1998

The bill would allow the Refugee Applications Commissioner to delegate most duties under the Refugee Act 1996 to staff members. The Commissioner would still personally have to provide required reports and information to the Minister and could not delegate the power to delegate, helping address concerns that one person could not manage the workload.
