Telecommunications (Infrastructure) Bill 1999

The Bill would create a Telecommunications Infrastructure Board to resolve disputes and set compensation when operators need access to land. It would give all operators similar powers to build infrastructure, regulate works on public roads, encourage network sharing, protect landowners and local authorities, and reduce disruption, while replacing older telecommunications laws.

Bill entitled an Act to establish a body to be known as the Telecommunications Infrastructure Board and to define its functions; to enable network operators to obtain access to and to acquire rights over land and to enable network operators to open and use public roads for the establishment or maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure; to provide for the sharing of telecommunications infrastructure; to amend and repeal certain enactments, and to provide for related matters
