Whistleblowers Protection Bill 1999

The Whistleblowers Protection Bill 1999 would protect employees who, reasonably and honestly, report suspected crimes, legal breaches, dangers to health or safety, environmental damage, miscarriages of justice or concealment of such matters. It would shield them from civil claims and workplace retaliation, including dismissal, and allow complaints leading to reinstatement, re-employment or compensation.
