Illegal Immigrants (Trafficking) Bill 1999

Creates an offence of organising or knowingly helping someone enter Ireland unlawfully or to seek asylum, with prison sentences of up to 10 years and powers to search, detain and seize vehicles used. It also tightens deportation and asylum procedures, including detention pending deportation and a 14-day limit for challenging many decisions in the High Court.
