Údarás na Gaeltachta (Amendment) (No. 3) Bill 1999

Údarás na Gaeltachta would be reorganised, with a chairperson, elected and ministerial members, a chief executive, regional committees and an evaluation committee to review larger grants. It would gain clearer powers to manage funding, including European funds, while grants would promote the use of Irish and be subject to stronger government oversight. New rules would require members and staff to disclose conflicts of interest and protect confidential information, while changing the areas and number of representatives elected to the Údarás.
