UNESCO National Commission Bill, 1999

The Bill would replace Ireland’s existing civil-service UNESCO body with an independent, statutory commission involving educational and cultural non-governmental organisations. It would advise the Government, support Ireland’s participation in UNESCO, liaise with interested groups, employ its own staff and report publicly on its work.
