Insurance Bill 1999
Public bill · Government · Presented
Insurance intermediaries such as brokers and agents would need authorisation and supervision, with clearer rules on whom they may represent, how they handle clients’ money and what insurers must check. Customers would receive more information about life and non-life policies, including premiums, commissions, charges, benefits, exclusions, cancellation and renewal terms, while regulators would gain stronger inspection powers and penalties for wrongdoing.
Formal long title
