Radio and Television (Amendment) Bill 1999

Would allow radio and television advertisements promoting the sale of genuine political or religious newspapers and journals, provided the regulator considers them genuine and the advertising is aimed at promoting the publication rather than sectarianism or a political objective. It would remove a possible legal barrier to legitimate advertising of these publications.

Bill entitled an Act to amend the Radio and Television Act, 1988, so as to ensure that the legitimate advertising of bona fide journals and newspapers is not prohibited by law
