Criminal Justice (Illicit Traffic by Sea) Bill 2000

Would enable Ireland to cooperate with other countries to tackle drug trafficking at sea, including boarding, searching and detaining vessels, arresting suspects, and surrendering people, boats and evidence to the country with primary responsibility. It would also amend the 1994 law and provide safeguards on court oversight, release, appeals, compensation and the death penalty.
