Gas (Amendment) Bill 2000
Public bill · Government · Presented
The measure would reserve up to 3.3 million cubic metres of daily gas-network capacity for new electricity-generating stations, with the electricity regulator selecting projects expected to come into operation earliest and protecting competition. It would also require Bord Gáis to provide access, impose penalties for delays, expand pipeline and land-acquisition powers, and amend electricity-regulation rules.
