Prevention of Corruption Bill 2000
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
The Prevention of Corruption Bill 2000 would bring Ireland’s anti-corruption laws together and broaden them to cover politicians, judges, public officials, companies and overseas officials. It would criminalise offering or accepting bribes, allow corruption cases involving acts abroad, strengthen assumptions about suspicious payments, and give the Gardaí court-approved powers to search, seize evidence and arrest obstructive people.
