Registration of Lobbyists Bill 2000
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
The proposal would create a public register of paid lobbyists and require them to disclose who they represent, what government decisions they seek to influence and how they do so. It would impose an ethical code, allow investigations by the Public Offices Commission and punish knowingly false information, while protecting privileged or safety-sensitive information.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to provide in the public interest for the registration of paid lobbyists and, to the greatest extent possible consistent with the public interest in free and open access to central and local government, for the disclosure of their activities, and to provide for related matters
