Allows local authority managers to extend their tenure by notifying the council chairperson in the required form and within a set period. The extension cannot exceed 10 years; managers who choose it cannot apply for another manager’s post during the relevant period, and the chairperson must notify the council, Minister and Local Appointments Commissioners.
