Interpretation Bill 2000
Public bill · Government · Presented
Sets out common rules for reading Irish Acts and regulations, including how to handle unclear wording, amendments, commencement dates, repeals, powers, duties and references. It replaces most earlier Interpretation Acts, reduces the need to repeat standard provisions in new laws, and aims to make legislation clearer and more consistent.
