The Bill would allow on-the-spot fines for minor fisheries offences and create offences and penalties for breaking the new wild salmon and sea-trout tagging scheme, starting in 2001. It would also adjust regional fisheries board elections and appointments, protect board employees appointed as members, and restore some accidentally deleted functions of the Central Fisheries Board.
