Freedom of Information (Amendment) Bill 2000

The proposal would remove the automatic protection for certain Attorney General advice to the Government or a Minister about legislation, regulations, or public-body policies when that advice is publicly used to justify a decision and is needed to understand it. Other Freedom of Information exemptions would still apply, and the change would not cover advice connected with actual or expected court proceedings.
