Twenty-fourth Amendment of the Constitution Bill 2001

The proposal would amend the Constitution to allow Ireland to ratify the 2001 Treaty of Nice, which changed EU rules. It would also allow Ireland to use certain Treaty options, but only with prior approval from both Houses of the Oireachtas.
