The measure would allow the Minister for Public Enterprise to sell the State’s shares in the Irish National Petroleum Corporation, and to sell or otherwise transfer some of the corporation’s assets, liabilities and subsidiaries. It would also allow the State to guarantee certain obligations linked to the sale, arrange shares for an employee ownership trust, update the corporation’s governing documents, and repeal outdated legislation connected with it.
