Public bill · Government · Presented
Converts selected fees, fines, charges and financial thresholds in Irish law from awkward Irish-pound equivalents into convenient euro amounts from 1 January 2002. It generally lowers fees and raises thresholds in the public’s favour, while also making technical changes for the withdrawal of Irish notes and coins, and updating credit-union and heritage rules.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to make provision for the substitution, with effect from 1 January 2002, of convenient amounts expressed in euro and cent for amounts expressed in Irish pounds and pence in certain legislative provisions, to amend the Economic and Monetary Union Act, 1998, to amend the Credit Union Act, 1997, and to make provision for matters related thereto
