Care of Persons Board Bill 2001

The proposal would establish an independent, 12-member Care of Persons Board to support people facing a crisis pregnancy, including with advice, money, accommodation and healthcare, with the aim of helping them continue the pregnancy and supporting mother and child after birth. Support would require the expectant mother’s consent and could extend to family members; the Board would receive public funding, report to the Oireachtas and undergo financial audits.
