Twenty-First Amendment of the Constitution Bill 2001

Would allow Ireland to ratify the Rome Statute establishing the International Criminal Court, which can prosecute genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes when national courts will not act. It would also protect laws and government actions needed to meet the Statute’s requirements, subject to approval in a referendum.
