Ordnance Survey Ireland Bill 2001

The Bill would turn the Ordnance Survey into Ordnance Survey Ireland, a publicly owned body outside the Civil Service, responsible for national mapping and geographic information. It would give it greater commercial freedom to sell services and form partnerships, while requiring financial efficiency, public-service agreements, ministerial oversight, independent audits and protections for transferring staff.
