Twenty-sixth Amendment of the Constitution Bill 2002

The proposed amendment would allow Ireland to ratify and use the Treaty of Nice, which prepared the European Union for enlargement, subject to approval by both Houses of the Oireachtas for certain choices. It would also prevent Ireland from joining an EU common defence without another referendum.
