Freedom of Information (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 2003

The Bill would extend by 12 months, to 21 April 2004, the exemption that generally protected Cabinet records from release under the Freedom of Information Act. During that period, the Information Commissioner would consult the public and interested groups about possible changes to the Act, report to both Houses of the Oireachtas, and have the findings considered before any longer-term amendments were proposed.
