Maternity Protection (Amendment) Bill 2003

The Bill would strengthen workplace protections around maternity and related leave. It would allow leave to be postponed if a child is hospitalised, provide paid time off for antenatal classes, breastfeeding breaks or reduced hours, protect employment rights during additional maternity leave, and give fathers limited rights to attend antenatal classes and take related leave.
