International Criminal Court Bill 2003
Public bill · Government · Presented
The legislation would bring Ireland’s law into line with the International Criminal Court by making genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes offences that Irish courts and courts-martial can prosecute. It would also create procedures for arresting and surrendering suspects to the Court, gathering evidence, protecting victims and witnesses, freezing and recovering assets, and enforcing fines or confiscation orders. Ireland would be able to host Court hearings or investigations, while Court officials would receive agreed protections and immunities.
