Broadcasting (Funding) Bill 2003

The Bill would create a Broadcasting Funding Scheme, managed by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland and funded with 5% of net television licence-fee income—about €8 million a year. Grants would support programmes about Irish culture, heritage and experience, adult literacy, Irish-language broadcasting, local and community broadcasting, and the preservation and archiving of programmes.
