An Bord Bia (Amendment) Bill 2003

Public bill · Government · Presented

The Bill would dissolve An Bord Glas and transfer its staff, property, responsibilities and ongoing legal matters to An Bord Bia, while protecting staff terms and pension rights. It would expand An Bord Bia’s role to include horticulture, create a dedicated horticulture board and allow subsidiary companies for functions such as quality-assurance schemes. It would also update board membership, give the Board wider powers to act and delegate work, and allow more modern ways to collect levies on live livestock exports.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend An Bord Bia Act 1994, to make provision for the dissolution of An Bord Glas - The Horticultural Development Board and the transfer of its functions to An Bord Bia, to amend the Registration of Potato Growers and Potato Packers Act 1984, and to provide for related matters
