Twenty-seventh Amendment of the Constitution Bill 2004

The proposal would amend the Constitution so that people born in Ireland would no longer automatically be entitled to Irish citizenship unless at least one parent was an Irish citizen or entitled to become one. It would apply only to people born after the amendment took effect, while allowing the Oireachtas to create exceptions by law.
