Child Trafficking and Pornography (Amendment) Bill 2004
Public bill · Government · Presented
The Bill would amend the 1998 law to make clear that it does not prevent Oireachtas committees from directing witnesses to provide evidence, or people from complying with those directions. It would also allow either House of the Oireachtas, its committees, or others acting for them to possess, distribute, print, publish or show child pornography when necessary for parliamentary functions. The change is intended to prevent the child-protection law from interfering with parliamentary work; no financial cost was expected.
