Motor Vehicle (Duties and Licences) Bill 2004

Sets revised annual motor tax rates from 1 January 2004 for vehicles including motorcycles, electric vehicles, commercial vehicles, buses, tractors, motor caravans, taxis and private cars, with rates generally based on vehicle type, weight or engine size. Vehicles more than 30 years old qualify for lower rates of €19 or €42, while electric vehicles and certain community, school and specialist vehicles receive specific rates. It also changes trade-licence fees, including replacement fees for lost, stolen or destroyed licences.
