Tribunal of Inquiry into Certain Planning Matters and Payments Bill 2004
Public bill · Government · Presented
The measure would allow the Mahon Tribunal to decide which planning and payment matters to investigate or bring to public hearings. In making those decisions, it could consider witnesses’ age or health, the likely time and cost involved, whether an investigation could produce useful findings or recommendations, and whether continuing would be wasteful, too expensive, unnecessarily long or unlikely to produce helpful evidence. It was intended to support changes already made to the Tribunal’s terms of reference and would have no staffing or financial impact.
